Diabetes is a condition in which the glucose (sugar) level in the blood is unnaturally high. Diabetes, as several studies have shown, is a lifestyle disorder that is manageable and also reversible. One of the primary ways to reverse diabetes is a lifestyle and dietary modification. When it comes to diet, the key to preventing and managing diabetes and other lifestyle diseases is eliminating white flour, refined sugar, dairy,  processed and packaged foods from our diet. In addition, carrots are also endowed with iron, calcium, potassium, and fiber that help lower your blood sugar levels, boost your heart and digestive health. Cucumbers are very low in calories but are very hydrating and endowed with healing antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that help improve our immunity, digestive health, and heart health. Pomegranate is a powerhouse of phytochemicals that promote self-healing, cancer protection, brain protection as they protect against Alzheimer's disease. They also offer anti-inflammatory benefits that are very beneficial for people with arthritis, anti-viral benefits, and they also help lower blood pressure.

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon, 2 apples, 2 carrots, 1 cucumber
  • 1 red pepper, 1 pomegranate, 1 cup of grapes
  • 1/2 beetroot, 1/2 pineapple, 2 sticks of celery
  • 2 leaves of curly kale, 1 1/2 thumb-sized ginger
  • 1 small bunch of coriander leaves, 4 green cabbage leaves
  • 1/4 watermelon, with skin, 2 fennel bulbs, 2 spinach leaves
  • 1 small bunch of basil leaves, 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 drop rosemary, thyme, or sage essential oil  

Instructions

Using a slow juicer (masticating juicer)

Rinse and dice all the ingredients into small pieces.

Gradually place cut pieces in a slow juicer and extract the juice.

Mix in a tablespoon of coconut oil until well blended.

Enjoy the fresh juice immediately for the best effect!

Using a fast juicer (centrifugal juicer)

Rinse and dice all the ingredients.

Add to the fast juicer and blend until very smooth.

Strain it through a cheesecloth, and squeeze out the juice manually.

Add coconut oil to the juice and stir until well combined. Serve right away!

Notes

It is best to prepare the juice fresh; however, you can also store it in a refrigerator (at 4°C) for 2 to 3 days. Juice extracted using a fast juicer will oxidize more quickly than the juice extracted using a slow juicer. This is because the fast juicer spins at 3000rpm, which incorporates more air into the juice and fastens the oxidation process.
