Using cooked or raw sprouted chickpeas as the base, add fresh coriander leaves and shredded nori to give this traditional hummus a Far Eastern twist. Nori and sesame oil impart a delightful sea flavor to the dish.

A unique fusion of traditional chickpea hummus with a Far Eastern twist, featuring shredded nori and roasted sesame oil that lend a subtle sea flavor to the dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1 tablespoon roasted sesame oil
  • 2 sheets shredded nori
  • 1/2 liquid from cooked chickpeas for smooth paste
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Add the chickpeas, roasted sesame oil, shredded nori, and salt to a blender. Blend until smooth.

If needed, stop the blender to scrape the sides and continue blending until a smooth consistency is achieved.

Optional Variation 1: For an enhanced taste, try adding a tablespoon of sesame paste and nori algae instead of other ingredients.

Optional Variation 2: Alternatively, add coconut oil, fresh coconut flesh, and fresh coriander leaves for an awesome flavor.
