When you return home and step into the house, and there’s the aroma of something delicious simmering away in a pot, you know that you will be served a luxurious meal that is a nutritious treat for everyone. It takes time and love to cook a delicious meal. Unfortunately, not many of us do that today. If you do cook, this recipe is for you. A Slow-Cooked Pumpkin Butter makes a traditional homemade gift for the entire family and friends.
Pumpkin soup is a family favorite in homes across Europe and elsewhere. For this pumpkin butter recipe, all you need are a few ingredients, a slow cooker or pot, some bottle containers, and time—4 to 6 hours for slow cooking—to impress everyone.
Pumpkin butter is similar to apple, zucchini, or carrot butter but made only with pumpkins. It’s fantastic on toast, pancakes, oatmeal, or waffles, mixed into soups, or enjoyed on its own. The natural antimicrobial properties of spices like cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and cardamom provide extra health benefits and elevate the final flavor.
It boosts your metabolism, fights diseases and infections, helps balance blood sugar, and the spices, loaded with antioxidants, help decelerate aging and prevent coronary heart disease and cancer. Pumpkin seed oil is also known for preventing prostate problems, featuring a unique dark green color. Plus, this pumpkin butter is completely natural.
Thus, you’re giving your family and friends a treat free from preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and colors. This recipe is also gluten-free, paleo-friendly, vegetarian, and can be made vegan if you opt for rice syrup instead of honey.
