Watermelon is a ‘superduper’ fatty liver dissolver and cleanser. It helps the liver process ammonia and eliminates excess fatty waste. Many friends and students have reversed severe fatty liver problems by following this watermelon juice method for 30 days.
I have personal experience with this watermelon juice method and living on 99% watermelon juice for six months. Yes, you read that right, six months. Apart from the juice, I only drank a little water to rinse my mouth and occasionally ate watermelon slices. During this period, I experienced no fatigue or tiredness. After my meditation and yoga, my daily routine involved:
- Running 3 to 5 km for 4 to 5 days a week.
- Working out for 2 hours daily in the gym.
- Getting a good sleep of no more than 4 to 5 hours daily.
The decision to watermelon juice fast was spontaneous one day. Towards the end of April, I felt no need to eat more solid food. There was a ripe green watermelon, and I decided to juice it fully – with the rind, seeds, and red fleshy pulp. I drank that juice throughout the day and felt a sensation of lightness. This feeling was so good that I continued the fast for another day and then another. Finally, I decided to test how long my body could sustain itself on this watermelon juice and continued the fast for around six months. I had to end the six months of juice because the watermelon season was over.
More recently, my friend, a lawyer, tried out this “30-day watermelon juice fast” after being diagnosed with fatty liver and given a prescription to take two drugs for the next two years. The agony of taking medications for two years compared to a healthier alternative helped him decide on the juice fast route. Initially, he was skeptical about whether he would complete this challenge, but he persisted nevertheless.
The first few days were difficult, and he experienced a strong urge to eat savory food, especially when he saw his wife and kids enjoying those delicacies. But with perseverance and determination, he overcame the initial ‘cure crisis’ and completed the fast. After 30 days, he did the same tests again, and this time they showed a healthy reading. Thus, with this 30-day juice fast, he reversed a fatty liver condition without a single prescription drug. This watermelon juice recipe uses the flesh and the rind. You can literally drink away your crisis with fatty liver dissolver juice.
Watermelon rind has a mildly astringent flavor. The juice of only the red fleshy part can be too sweet. Mixing it with the rind mellows down the sweetness and gives it a mild, bitter-sweet flavor. As for me, the more astringent and mild the sweetness, the better! 🙂
Watermelon Juice with Rind
Nutritional Benefits: Most of us throw away watermelon rind. Why? Simply because nobody told us that it was good and we have seen others throw it away, so we do it too. But watermelon rind is safe and healthy to eat. This recipe for watermelon juice with rind, ginger, and lemon is a healthy immunity booster. Watermelon is a rich source of citrulline, an amino acid that can metabolize arginine, an essential amino acid that our body does not naturally produce. Arginine is a nitrogenous substrate for synthesizing nitric oxide, which plays a vital role in cardiovascular and immune functions.
