In 2011 during my time in Brasil, Brasilia city, a friend and colleague who owns a vegetarian sattvik food restaurant called Terraviva invited me to create and improve the recipes at his restaurant. It was an awesome opportunity to introduce some new exotic Asian recipes to the menu. Creating new recipes is always a delightful challenge for any chef, as it involves sourcing new ingredients and flavors. This allowed me to visit the region’s enormous fresh markets to select different fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, herbs, and some ingredients to make the tranquilizer juice.
A few months prior, my friend requested me to help him lose weight, and I set him up on my weight loss detox program, which helped him get from 105 to 90 kilos in 30 days. His new breakfast was now a mix of fresh fruits and vegetable juices. We had fresh passion fruit juice with oranges just before driving to the market on this particular day. On the drive to the market, I caught myself dozing off for a few minutes, which was unusual.
Another Dada who watched me nodding off suggested that the passion fruit juice we had in the morning was responsible and said he felt the same. After doing some research, I discovered that passion fruit is rich in tranquiline, a naturally occurring tranquilizer that causes a calming effect on the entire nervous system.

Tranquilizer
It will help you to calm your system and help you recover from illness and fatigue rapidly as an awesome rejuvenator and revitalizer. Ingredients
- 4 leaves of Curly Kale
- 1 Pineapple
- 1 Cucumber
- 2 Celery sticks
- 1 whole Lemon
- 1 thumb-size fresh Ginger
- 1 thumb-size fresh Turmeric
- 2 red baby radish
- 2 passion fruit
- 4 Romain salad leaves
- 1 tsp coconut oil (1 for each cup)
Instructions
First and foremost, wash all the fruits and vegetables thoroughly by passing water over the leaves and touching and caressing the fruits and vegetables. You will revitalize them.
Then cut all the fruits and vegetables into small chunks, add them to a masticator, liquefier, or blender and extract the juice.
Transfer the juice to a jar or decanter, add coconut oil and mix well. Alternatively, you can also add sesame, flaxseed, or olive oil (oil helps to better absorb all nutrients from fruits and veggies)
Drink this juice regularly throughout the day and feel the energy seeping into your system.
Notes
*Tranquiline is present is many natural foods, some of these have a calming effect as well, like Chamomile, Turmeric, Yogurt, Almonds and Blueberries etc. *The agricultural industry uses chemical fertilizer and pesticides to grown most veggies and fruits. One of the way to remove chemical and pesticide at least from the surface of vegetables and fruits is by soaking them in water. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and 1/2 tables of baking powder and 2 cap full of apple cider vinegar. allow to soak for 20 -30 mins then rinse and use.
