Carob Chickpea balls

  • 4 cups chickpea flour (gram flour)
  • 2 cups Carob powder
  • 2 cups coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup rose water (you can get this at Asian shops)
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup Coconut cream
  • 2 drops of spearmint essential oil



Mix carob powder to rose water thoroughly then add coconut sugar and mix well until sugar dissolves in rose water.


In a separate pan roast, the chickpea flour over low heat continuously mixing the flour gently, not to allow the flour to burn at the bottom.


Now add carob powder, rose water, drops of spearmint oil and mix slowly to flour while still stirring.


The liquid will get absorbed into flour and will turn into a chocolaty paste and form a soft lump, no worries keep on stirring until the flour is cooked well. Spread it out thin and let it cool and then make into 1.5cm /1 inch balls.


Rub coconut oil between your palms.


Take a teaspoon full and roll it into balls between your palms.


Roll over desiccated coconut mixed with coconut sugar.


This will make a coat around the balls, arrange on a plate to serve.
