Carob Chickpea Balls
Carob Chickpea Balls are a delightful, protein-packed treat made from simple, unprocessed plant-based ingredients. Perfect for parties or sharing, these bite-sized balls deliver natural sweetness and a rich, chocolatey flavor with every bite.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Carob powder
- 1 cup Rose water
- 2 cups Coconut sugar
- 4 cups Chickpea flour (gram flour)
- 2 drops Spearmint essential oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 cup Coconut oil
- 1/2 cup Coconut cream
- 1 cup Desiccated coconut
Instructions
Add the carob powder to the rose water and mix thoroughly. Then add the coconut sugar and stir until it is completely dissolved, setting the mixture aside.
In a separate pan, lightly roast the chickpea flour over low heat, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
Gradually add the carob powder-rose water mixture along with the drops of spearmint essential oil to the roasted flour while stirring constantly.
Continue stirring until the flour absorbs the liquid and transforms into a chocolatey paste that forms a soft lump. Remove the pan from the heat, spread the paste on a tray, and allow it to cool.
To form the balls, rub coconut oil between your palms. Take a teaspoonful of the cooled mixture and roll it into balls approximately 1.5 cm in diameter.
Prepare a plate by combining desiccated coconut with additional coconut sugar. Roll each ball in this mixture to achieve a uniform coating, then arrange them on the plate to serve.
Enjoy this healthy dessert as a sweet snack that will keep in the refrigerator for weeks.
