This delightful delicacy is made solely from unprocessed plant-based ingredients like chickpeas, carob powder, and shredded coconut. These are the most protein-dense chickpea balls you’ll ever have! This easy cookie recipe has only 8 ingredients and is excellent for any cookie lover.

These protein balls are tasty and easy to make. All you need are eight ingredients, a fork, a bowl, and ten minutes of your time. I make this roughly 2 cm in diameter, as I like them a little smaller. The recipe makes 20 – 30 balls depending on size and is therefore ideal for sharing: unexpected guests, a comfort snack for your best friend, or a movie night that is missing a treat.

Carob Chickpea Balls are your perfect delight as they are full of high-quality plant-based protein. They are perfect for parties and large gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Carob powder
  • 1 cup rose water
  • 2 cups of coconut sugar
  • 4 cups chickpea flour (gram flour)
  • 2 drops of spearmint essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup Coconut cream

Instructions

1

Add the carob powder into the rose water and mix thoroughly, then add the coconut sugar, and mix well until the sugar has completely dissolved and set aside.

2

In a separate pan, lightly roast the chickpea flour over low heat, stirring continuously, so the flour does not burn at the bottom.

3

Gradually add the carob powder-rose water mixture and the drops of spearmint oil to the flour while stirring.

4

The flour will absorb the water, turn into a chocolatey paste, and form a soft lump. No worries, keep stirring until the flour is cooked well. Take it off the heat, spread it on a tray, and let it cool.

5

To form the balls, rub coconut oil between your palms and then take a teaspoonful of the mixture at a time and roll it into balls about 1.5 cm in diameter between your palms.

6

Spread the desiccated coconut and coconut sugar on a plate. Roll the balls in this mixture to form a coating.

7

This will make a coat around the balls and arrange them on a plate to serve

8

Make this easy dessert a healthy sweet snack for your family. It will keep in the refrigerator for weeks unless there are stealing hands!
